U. S Naval Academy Information Sessions

Hinds, Madison, and Rankin County high school students who are interested in learning more about the United States Naval Academy are invited to an informational meeting. Students will have the opportunity to ask a current Midshipman questions about the admissions process and life at the Naval Academy. 

There are four opportunities:

Navigating Nursing (Mississippi University for Women)

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences at “The W” (Mississippi University for Women) will be hosting two Navigating Nursing Days for high school juniors and seniors who are interested in learning more about a career in nursing and health sciences.  This will be a hands-on learning experience and will include a simulation demonstration, interaction with current students, practice experiences with simulation models, mock class experience/observation, and tour of the building.  Attendance will be limited to high school juniors and seniors.

The event will be held in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences Building (Martin Hall).   

The two Navigating Nursing Days are:

Thursday, November 14, 2019, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Thursday, February 27, 2020, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

There will be simulation demonstrations, hands-on practice with simulations models, interactions with students, introduction to Nursing, Speech Language Pathology or Health and Kinesiology, as well as a tour of campus. 

Space is limited so register early. SEE MRS. SMITH IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE TO REGISTER. 

Holmes Community College: Major Experience (Deadline Nov. 6)

When: November 20 from 9 a.m. 12:30 p.m.

Where: Holmes CC - Goodman Campus

All 11th and 12th grade students on the Principal's List are invited to a A Major Experience as a reward for their scholastic achievement. 

Have a hands-on experience with the Holmes Academic and Career Technical Programs and see The Holmes Connection -- an exciting and energetic powerhouse pop ensemble that loves entertaining on stage.

FREE APP WEEK: University of Alabama

The University of Alabama is excited to announced Free App Week, running November 4-10, 2019. This is your students' opportunity to build off their hard work and dedication to their futures without the pressure of cost. 

Senior students and their families need to visit: FREE APP WEEK
Students complete the form and receive a link directly to the application with their individual code beginning November 4. They then have until 11:59 p.m. CT on November 10, to complete their application. During this week, students need to  acquiring transcripts.

Belhaven University Visit Days

·         Friday, November 15th (Arts Discover Day)

During these visit days, students have the opportunity to tour campus, meet with a professor and attend a class in their area of interest, have lunch, audition for the arts, meet with an admission counselor, and find out about scholarships.

If the student is unable to make our Discover Day, they may schedule a personal visit anytime Monday-Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm.  Scheduling can be made by clicking on the link above.
